In 2017, I went through a divorce and realized that I was clueless about the financial aspect of the process, and I'm a financial professional! After getting inaccurate advice about settlement options from my consulting attorney, I later realized that lawyers and mediators are not as well-versed in divorce finances, and I decided to become a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®).
For as long as I can remember, I’ve harnessed my “mom energy” to take care of my people—to make life simpler and easier for those around me, to be that reassuring, trusted pillar of strength and consistency. My life’s goal continues to be simple and straightforward: to nurture and care for my family, my friends, and my clients, whether they're single, married, divorced, or widowed. I am here to be my clients’ and their loved ones’ trusted partner for the rest of their lives, through all phases of life.
Specifically for my divorcing clients, it's my goal to help you, both of you, achieve a balanced, amicable settlement. I want you to be the best divorced family you can possibly be.

Kathryn Holland
Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CFP®, RICP®
After navigating my own divorce as a stay-at-home mother with limited financial knowledge, I committed myself to becoming the advisor I once needed. I now empower clients—especially those over 50—to make informed, confident decisions about their financial futures.
I am a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), and Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) who specializes in the financial complexities of grey divorce. With a deep understanding of both the emotional and economic challenges that come with later-life separation, I bring clarity, strategy, and compassion to the divorce process.
My CDFA® designation equips me to work closely with family law attorneys, mediators, and clients to analyze the short- and long-term financial impacts of divorce settlements. I am particularly skilled in addressing issues such as property division, tax implications, retirement planning, and the strategic use of California’s Proposition 19 in divorce negotiations.
Outside of my professional life, I am a fiber artist, beer aficionado and passionate hockey player. I volunteer with her local hockey community, am active with the American Red Cross, and enjoy snowboarding, putt putt golf, and upcycling vintage clothing with my son.

As a financial professional who experienced my own divorce, it was a reality check to find out that although I had an expert understanding of financial planning and investments, that didn’t translate to having an equally strong understanding when it came to financial assets in a divorce. I learned after the fact (and after I signed away a significant amount of assets that were rightfully mine) that assets aren’t always split 50/50, commingled assets can still potentially be separated, and most importantly, although divorce attorneys are the experts in family law, they aren’t necessarily experts in the more complex financial intricacies of divorce.
It was by going through this process and realizing what I didn’t know that I decided that I wanted to help people navigate through their own divorce. Whether I’m advocating for one spouse or acting as a financial neutral on behalf of a couple, my goal is to help achieve a settlement that is fair and balanced. If children are involved, that also extends to trying to achieve an amicable result where you can be the best divorced family once the dust has settled.
